Hello! Well I didn't get chosen for the The Working Holiday Club bloggers... but I'm going to continue anyway! Currently feel like a drowned rat in the UK after the amount of rain that's fallen in the last few days, CANT WAIT FOR SNOW EVENTUALLY! So for a bit about the GoPro Hero 3 and my new boots read on!
There's 5 more days to go until I fly out, and it's recently been a rush to finish work, buy everything and then have some last fun - roadtrip :) Got my GoPro Chest Mount...but instantly became uber jealous of the brand new GoPro Hero3!!!
I got my video editing software too... although it could take a long time to get to grips with it until I feel like Steven Speilberg or whatnot!
I also got brought some new boots :D
I never realised that having your own boots would a) take so long and b) feel so snug! I went one afternoon to a company over near Horsham called Edge & Wax as it was quite close to where I live. Having rung them up there was a boot fitting appointment available that wouldn't tie me into buying them until heat moulding. For those of you who have never had boots before like me I'll describe it roughly :) but Edge and Wax definitely are recommended!
Step 1 - Check my gait - I'm a pronouncer meaning I role my feet inwards when I walk/stand etc
Step 2 - They measured the length and width of my boots and chose pairs that were good for the three measurements
Step 3 - They then got out some pairs, and removed the inners to see how much room I had in the shell (the outer bit)
Step 4 - They explained the boots should feel very tight initially and as you wear them in they should loosen (tip from a friend - wear them round the house before hand to help)
Step 5 - After choosing your boots due to their fit (they'll happily explain what you're meant to feel, just the tip of the inner when sitting, no lateral or heel movement and no excessive fits on the sides of the boot)
Step 6 - I decided to have an innersole done as well, which meant standing on some weird air bed thing to get the shape of my feet then have the insole pushed into a hardened version - THIS MAKES THE BOOT SOOOOO COMFY!
Step 7 - My boots had some heat adjustable side panels so my boots were put in an oven then I just had to wear them for 10 minutes for the shape to adjust. Again this helps with the fit :)
It took around 2 hours but the extra time and any extra cost was well worth it to get the best pair of boots for my feet specially when considering the amount of skiing I'm going to be doing!

Anyway bit more informative that one, I'll make the next a bit more interesting :D
